What PHP version do I need?
PHP 7.4 or higher. LiveEdit works on Apache and Nginx. For Nginx, add a simple rewrite rule — the exact config is in the README.
Does it work with any HTML file?
Yes. LiveEdit scans the DOM and marks all editable elements automatically — no need to add attributes or change your markup. Works with plain HTML, PHP templates, and anything that renders as HTML.
Where are changes saved?
Directly to the .html file on your server. No database, no cloud. Before every save a backup copy is created in livedit/backups/.
Is the Pro license per site or per domain?
Per domain. One license activates Pro on one domain including all subfolders. Subdomains count as separate domains. You can run multiple LiveEdit copies on the same domain for different sections.
What if I lose my activation code?
Email us at hello@livedit.io with your purchase email and we'll resend it immediately.
How secure is it?
Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. Every write uses CSRF tokens. Backup and config files are blocked from web access via .htaccess. Sessions expire after 120 minutes. Change the default password on first login.
